Research

Research simply described as “to go about seeking”. The search and seeking as exploratory process has given immense pleasure is to me as that has enriched my knowledge through collection of data, information and facts and its analysis and interpretations has revealed reality with its multiple dimensions and varieties.

The studies are largely of empirical nature; employing qualitative, quantitative and participatory research methods and techniques. The data in itself on time scale may be ‘old’, nevertheless, they are useful in knowing the then prevalent situation, regional characteristics and different aspects of the given issue. Each organisation has put in admiring energy, time and resources to conduct these studies and therefore the research team and the organisation shares equal credit.

Over the years, along with developing research skills, I have understood and practiced its heuristic values, such as, methods to teach and conduct research in a team, especially nurturing research aptitude among the students; using the data and information for strategic planning and media campaign; evolving advocacy means and strategies; and developing planning, monitoring and evaluation (PM&E) frameworks for reviews.

I’m able to share studies that have been conducted after year 2000, as the soft copies of these studies are available.
